Sarah Jones is an honor student currently in her 4th year at the University of Guelph studying Criminal Justice and Public Policy. Her lifelong goal has always been to become a police officer with the Waterloo Regional Police Service. While attending high school, Sarah participated in the Cops and Youth Ownership Program, where she has since become a mentor volunteering with the program for the past 6 years. Every year, Sarah joins the Cops and Youth team in raising money for and walking in the annual Lutherwood Steps For Kids walk, which supports youth mental health initiatives.
Sarah is also a youth advisor on the Citizen’s Advisory Committee, which fosters positive communication and relationships between the police service and the community. In 2015, Sarah became an Auxiliary Constable with the Waterloo Regional Police Service where she now volunteers many hours per month to assist with community events and initiatives. Upon completion of her degree, Sarah hopes to become a full time Constable with the Waterloo Regional Police Service and continue her work in the community.
