Lina’s hair apprenticeship started in 2002, and this sparked her passion for hair and all that comes with it. She took this passion and founded Artline Salon at age 23 in 2007.
Amongst her many accomplishments, Lina has represented Team Canada at the OMC Hair Olympics (Moscow Russia 2006, Chicago USA 2008, Paris France 2010, Milan Italy 2012, Frankfurt Germany 2014, Seoul Korea 2016)
…and she won the Championship for the Progressive Woman’s Cut&Style category in Korea, Seoul.
Her business skills were recognized recently when Ms. Shamoun was also named Young Entrepreneur of the Year by the Greater Kitchener Waterloo Chamber of Commerce in February 2016.
Lina’s love for her craft is beyond anyone’s imagination, from her competitive background to her careful selection of Artline’s team members. There is nothing that rewards her more than sharing her skills and creative passion with everyone around her. With her vision and her team’s dedication, every stylist is organically developed. Lina believes in young talent and anyone who wants to explore this beautiful world of hairdressing.
Along with her parents and four siblings, Ms. Shamoun came to Canada as an immigrant when she was 14 years old. After learning English and completing high school, she apprenticed as a hair stylist. With a strong desire to give back to the community, through the Business and Education Partnership Program of Waterloo Region, Shamoun speaks at local high schools on entrepreneurship. Since Artline’s inception, Shamoun has trained 15-20 co-op students and five apprentices. Shamoun also judges Skills Canada competitions and trains high school teachers to help students to be successful in competitions. In addition, she fosters cooperation among local salons through an annual charity event called Hair United.
